Thursdays during the school holidays
Torchlit descent
On Thursday evenings during the Christmas and February holidays, come and experience the magic of the Sainte Foy torchlight descent, either joining in the fun on skis or watching the magic from resort!
As night falls, ski instructors and all the participants light up the slopes with their torches in hand, creating a warm and enchanting spectacle. A wonderful moment to share with family or friends!
Organised in collaboration with the Tourist Office, the resort’s partners and ESF Sainte Foy, this event is one of the season’s must-sees.

Practical information:
- Free. Sign up in advance at the Tourist Office.
- Open to skiers with at least a blue run / 1ère Étoile level. Remember you will be skiing down in the dark following lots of other people. If in doubt about whether you or your child should participate, speak to your instructor.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- Torches on sale at the top of the Grand Plan chairlift (please bring cash) in aid of the Sainte Foy Ski Club.
- Leave your ski poles at home if you are planning to ski with a torch.

ESF Sainte Foy Memorial
Come and soak up the spirit of the ESF Sainte Foy Memorial and support our instructors in a friendly and spectacular competition!
On the programme: a two-run giant slalom, contested in teams, where performance and team spirit take centre stage. The first run starts at 10.15 am, followed immediately by the second.
To keep the atmosphere, there is a buffet and the prize-giving ceremony after the race to round off this day of competitiveness, celebration and also remembrance of instructors who we have lost.
Tuesdays during the February school holidays
Trophée des Galopins
Every Tuesday during the February half-term holidays, we invite children to take part in the Trophée des Galopins. This is a free parallel slalom on the snow front, in front of the ESF office. A sporting, fun and sociable event, with prizes to be won! Come and cheer on our champions!
Practical information:
- Free: sign up at 5pm on the day at the tent outside the ski school
- Open to children under 12, whether or not they are booked into ESF lessons
- Levels: 2ème Étoile to Étoile d'Or
Individual and family challenge
Grand Prix des Vacanciers – Flèche & Chamois slalom races
Every Thursday during the school holidays, ESF Sainte Foy invites you to take part in the Grand Prix des Vacanciers! On the Arpettaz slalom course, come and race against the clock and experience the thrills of a real race, in an atmosphere that’s both competitive and friendly. A great challenge to test your technique, have some fun and take home some wonderful memories!
Two events await you:
- Giant Slalom – La Flèche: on Thursday morning, meet at 9.10 am at the bottom of the Arpette.
- Slalom – Chamois: on Thursday afternoon, meet at 2.30 pm at the bottom of the Arpette.
Practical information:
- Open to everyone, even if you’re not enrolled on an esf course.
- Required level: ‘Étoile d’Or’ for children, red run level for adults.
- Register at the ESF Sainte Foy office before 6.00 pm on Wednesday.
- Entry fee: €10 per race
- You will have time to do a reconnaissance run of the course after you collect your race number which will be ready next to the timing hut, at the bottom of the Arpettaz chairlift.
- Prize-giving ceremony at the end of the race. Be sure to stay and cheer on the winners!
